Jane is a Specialist Teacher and was Principal of Chiltern Tutorial for many years. She has been persuaded to remain on the Committee as Vice Chair.

Having worked as a teacher across the age ranges with the young and not quite so young with a variety of needs for over twenty years,  I now assess for SPLDs.

I am a mother of two beautiful girls, ages 16 and 13 years old. My youngest daughter is dyslexic  i am passionate about being able to access the resources and advice available to parents, carers and teachers.

SUE MCKENNA

Acting Chair/Treasurer

Sue has worked as a Specialist Teacher in Higher Education for some years, did a marathon stint as Chair of HDA for 10 years and can’t keep away. She is now Treasurer.

Mavis has been a Special Needs Tutor and Author for a number of years. Currently she advises on Self-esteem and reading and spelling with dyslexic students

Helen is a Specialist Teacher Assessor, Principal of Test Valley Tutors with expertise in Maths Study Skills and Dyslexic EAL

Jacky Gurney B.Ed Dip.RSA SpLD is Editor of the HDA newsletter. (Ideas and articles welcome). Jacky enjoys tutoring children aged 3-11 in English and she runs the School Skills Club.

Julia is a Specialist Tutor in Lymington working with Primary and Secondary pupils working both a local school and from home. Supporting learners with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Study Skills and other learning difficulties
